Washington, District of Columbia (October 27, 2020) — The DC Special Education Cooperative (Co-op) is excited to host their annual ELEVATE Special Education Conference over the course of the week of December 7-11.
Once a year, the Co-op hosts a conference for staff at member schools during National Inclusive Schools Week to highlight some of the best practices for serving students with disabilities in DC Public Charter schools. This year the organization is taking advantage of the flexibility that a virtual conference allows and hosting several short sessions focused on specific tools, practices, resources, or topics such as: the effects of implicit bias on special education students, developing emotional intelligence in a virtual/hybrid classroom, Universal Design for Learning, and Special Education Leadership!
“The last eight months have been a huge learning opportunity (and challenge) for many of us. The Co-op is looking forward to spending time with our colleagues from across the city during National Inclusive Schools Week,” Executive Director Julie Camareta said. “We will reflect on what we’ve learned and what must be done to improve outcomes for the students we serve.”
This event is free and open to staff at Co-op member schools.
