RuQuan Brown Bio

DC3C Instructor

RuQuan Brown is an Instructor for the Co-op’s DC3C program, as well as a social impact entrepreneur, educator, and community leader. A Harvard graduate who studied Black history and economics with leading mentors, RuQuan has led national efforts in education equity and gun violence prevention, including organizing campaigns that helped secure $200M in public school investments and was instrumental in the passing of the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act. Since graduating college in 2024, he has worked in DC Public Schools as a teacher and at a charter school as an operations administrator, bringing his passion for equity directly into the classroom and school systems. He also founded Love1, a social enterprise that supported gun violence survivors, and served as a Board Member at March For Our Lives to advance life-saving legislation. In addition, RuQuan has built a following of over 30,000 on TikTok, where he uses storytelling and digital advocacy to engage young people in conversations about education, equity, and justice.
 
Passionate about building systems centered on love, equity, and opportunity, RuQuan has been featured in outlets such as CNN, The Washington Post, and Teen Vogue for his leadership. Fun fact: in addition to his work in education and social impact, RuQuan is also a painter, musician, and fashion designer.
