Instructional Coach at SAIL PCS

SAIL PCS is seeking an Instructional Coach

Job Responsibilities

· Analyze teacher practice through observations and data analysis
· Support Director of Academics in driving strong academic rigor in all content areas
· Assist Director of Academics with gathering, analyzing, and reporting both quantitative and qualitative data about teacher and student performance
· Support the Director of Academics in ensuring effective collection and analysis of student performance data to identify struggling students, curriculum shortfalls, and teacher quality issues
· Support teachers in meeting rigorous student literacy growth goals
· Support Director of Academics in monitoring of teacher implementation of instructional strategies that are based upon research-based best practices
· Provide teachers with specific and instructionally appropriate suggestions for improvement in all academic areas based upon research-based best practices
· Provide specific instructional support in the areas of phonics, fluency, comprehension, writing and math through coaching, co-teaching, modeling and feedback
· Develop and/or assist with development of scope and sequence for K-8 writing program
· Assist Director of Academics with supervising teachers’ instructional methods, evaluating lesson plans, providing formal and informal observations and professional development opportunities, and coach teachers around effective instructional strategies
· Assist Director of Academics with developing and monitoring teacher professional development plans and instructional improvement plans
· Support school-wide RTI implementation through collaboration with the OSSE and external academic coaches
· Implement recommended instructional and curriculum changes as directed by the OSSE and external academic coaches
· Support SAIL’s Special Education program by assisting teachers with and monitoring differentiation of instruction and provision of accommodations and modifications
· Assist Special Education Coordinator with monitoring student progress in summer school programs
· Review lesson plans and support teachers during summer school programs
· Support and monitor Artist Educator in integration of arts into core curriculum areas
· Assist teachers in ongoing development of school’s online curriculum
· Assist Director of Academics with ensuring curriculum cohesiveness
· Ongoing analysis and revision of SAIL online curriculum
· Collaborate with Director of Academics to develop and improve middle school curriculum
· Participate in and/or lead weekly team meetings with teachers to analyze data and review and develop collaborative lesson plans
· Collaborate with Director of Academics and team leaders to develop team goals and monitor student progress
· Assist Director of Academics with identifying external professional development opportunities for teachers which are rigorous and are aligned to academic achievement, SAIL’s mission and School Improvement Plan
· Support local school initiatives, i.e. PBIS, RTI, arts-integration, Responsive Classroom
· Assist with monitoring incorporation of academics into and student academic progress in non-instructional programming (i.e. after-school programming)
