The Co-operative distributes a weekly newsletter to members. The newsletter, “In the Know” contains articles, policy updates, OSSE requests, professional development opportunities, and job listings at member schools. We also maintain a collection of links to state and national disability organizations, advocacy organizations, policy documents, and resources for teaching students with special needs.

The DC Special Education Co-operative (legally named the DC Public Charter School Cooperative) was founded in 1998 by a group of charter school leaders, teachers, special education experts and local chartering authorities, and is the first of its kind in the nation.
