Washington Latin Public Charter School is seeking a District of Columbia certified Special Education Teacher for grades 9-12. Job Description
- Case manager for students enrolled in special education: develop and write IEPs, organize and lead multidisciplinary team meetings for initial and reevaluations, ensure appropriate modification/accommodations used by students and staff, maintain confidential/accurate records within the mandatory timelines for federal and district level records audits.
- Provide special education instruction in accordance with IEPs, supports general education assignments/ course work in pullout and/or inclusive settings.
- Develop, organize, and oversee transition program for students 13.5 and older.
- Working knowledge to ensure compliance of federal and district special education laws IDEA, ADA, Section 504.
- Participate in staff professional development needs, creates and delivers workshops.
- Coordinate related services providers and school staff for scheduling and sharing information.
- Maintains records of money allotted for special education students , procures materials/supplies.
