Bilingual Special Education Teacher

The Next Step Public Charter School, a small alternative high school, is looking for a full time certified bilingual special education teacher. The Next Step provides youth who have recently immigrated to this country or who have not been successful in traditional public schools, the opportunity to continue their education. We offer a nurturing environment and prepare students to pass the GED exam in English and/or Spanish as well as teach students English as a Second Language. The special education teacher is responsible for the following:

Provides special education instruction in accordance with IEPs
Supports and monitors special education students in pull out and/or inlucsion setting
collaborates will general education teachers and program assistants to deliver general education curriculum
Designs and implements transition services
Administers annual academic testing
Assistas with the development of IEPs
Documents student progress toward IEP goals
Works with staff/special education team to determine professional development needs, assists with the creation and delivery of workshops.
